The band concert was amazing. The middle school did extremely well by playing " O Come, All Ye Faithful" and "The Santa of Seville". The choir also did awesome. One of the songs they sang was "The First Noel". Julie and Caleigh performed a duet"When Christmas Comes to Town" with Kelsie playing the piano. Unfortuanely the bands were talking so much that it was very hard to hear the performer. So if you come to a concert please be quiet and sit in your seat until the song is over. Thank You! :)

Walter Chestnut Chicken Nugget III was born July 1, 1997. He was homeschooled for 7 years until he came to the school and asked for a job as a Newspaper staff. On December 3rd, he got sick with the swine flu. He isn't back in school because he still might be contagious. He hopes he will be better by Christmas so he can open gifts with his family. His father is Walter Chestnut Chicken Nugget II. His mother is Dorothy P. Nugget. His twin sister's name is Megan Kay Nugget. His older brother's name is Zachery Allen James Nugget. Ever since Walter was a kid, his older brother beat up on him. His sister tried to protect him, but she wasn't strong enough. One day, he told his brother to stop. Surprisingly, he did. My First Witetall

Last month me my brothers,Taylor Price and my dad whent to Arkansas. my dad and my little brother Kelton stayed at my grandperents house. Me, my brothers, and Taylor stayed at my grandpas cabin on the ranch. We hunted deer all over the ranch for a few days. Finaly two befor we had to go home I shot a decent 8 point with a 223 at 350 yards. It was my first witetall. the next day my brother Logan shot a 9 point slitaly biger than mine. The next day we had to leave it was a fun trip and I hope to go back next year.

The New Netbooks

On Monday, as you all know, we recieved our new netbooks. Everybody's name was drawn from a hat and we got to pick a netbook with the name of a country on it. Throughout the day student's went over care procedures with our teachers and were even allowed to play on them a little.
We also noticed some problems with the netbooks that are going to be resolved. I think the biggest one was the Internet connection, but everyone is working on that and it should be working shortly.
Getting these netbooks is an amazing oppurtunity and it is really cool that the State gave us the grant so that we could do this. I would also like to remind you guys to thank those people that helped out with the netbooks. They did an awesome job!

Next year, 2010, is the 75th anniversary of Nevada's state parks. The Nevada Division of State Parks is asking school age Nevada residents to make a poster to commemerate the 75th anniversary. a $100 cash prize is being offered for each first place winner in three age groups:

Panaca Cookie Crumb Trail By : Sydney T.

Saturday December 5 was Panaca's Cookie Crumb Trail and it was a blast ! At 11 A.M. there was a jog for all early risers . From 2-5 P.M there was a live Nativity Scence with an ewe and two lambs and a donkey . The LCAT was selling t-shirts and mugs . There was hot choclate and wonderful cookies . There was a horse drawn carriage that took carolers around 2 blocks to let the whole town hear their wonderful christmas vocies . There was also a tractor pulled wagon with hay bales and blankets to wrap up in on your journey around the many blocks of Panaca . The nice , tall , round , and plumb christmas tree in front of the Panca Post Office was decorated with homemade ornaments that could with stand the cold winter weather . Hope all who came had a wonderful time at this and will enjoy coming many years in advance .

New info on H1N1 ! By:Sydney T.

Well I went and got my flu shot today . It wasn't as bad as i thought and unexpectedly county health nurse Jean Lucht has 700 doses for the shot and 50 nasal mist . She is expecting 100 more nasal mist in January . She recommended that all middle school students get the shot as soon as possible . Children under nine have to get two doses but over nine we only need one . Students please tell your parents about the H1N1 flu vaccine that is available and go and get vaccinated . Check with the Lincoln County Health Department for her schedule . Jean Lucht said on January 2 she vaccinated 146 approximately give or take . She also made a trip to Elko and did 2 hour shifts and she vaccinated 2300 approximately give or take . There is possible side affects for the nasal mist , they are : you may feel tingling at the back of your neck and in your nose . You are not allowed to sneeze for approximately 30 min . Well I hope you guys will now go get the H1N1 for you own safety !

The middle School seventh and eighth grade team have been practicing for awhile.
We are looking pretty good and hope we can win all of the games. This weekend we were supposed to be playing in St. George but they have us playing each other so were just going to play next week on Monday. H1N1 Vaccine

H1N1 Vaccine

A couple of days ago Mrs. Lee handed out a paper that said that Lincoln County finally got Swine Flu vaccines! This is very exciting because if the Swine Flu broke out in Lincoln County it would probably spread very quickly. Jean Lucht is vaccinating for free on Dec. 3rd untill five o'clock. So tell your parents and head in there.
Here are some other ways you can stop other viruses including the Swine Flu.
Make sure to wash your hands regularly, take vitamins if you have any. If you are sick, make sure that you cover your mouth when you cough, and if your really sick STAY HOME!! because if you don't than you'll get other people sick, and it will stop you from getting better. Once you are better from a fever, you should stay home for at least 24 hours so that you stay better.

What my family eats for Thanksgiving is turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, fruit salad, crescent rolls, stuffing, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, olives, pickles, apple pie, pecan pie, lemon meringue pie, and two pumpkin pies. i would like to see at least a few other Thanksgiving famil traditions or something.

Cameras and video cameras By Derek

If you didn't know already we are getting cameras and video cameras, so far we have 5 cameras and 3 video cameras. We should be getting a few more cameras and a few more video cameras. We will be using them for all kinds of stuff like making movies, taking pictures, so we are anxious to get them all and we hope the rest come soon.

Boys and girls basketball game by Derek & Charlie

Middle school boys and girls played on November 18, in the high school gym. The boys scrimmaged the girls, after a hard fight, the boys won in the end, 50-18. Then they had one more quarter, and they reset the score. They played hard until it all came down to determination. The score was 8-8 with 20 seconds on the clock. Taylor was going for a layup when Charlie blocked her and Preston went down and scored the winning layup. They all played good, but both teams need more practice. The boys and girls will play eachother a lot more this year. The next game will probably be next week, we advise you all to come and watch the scrimage.

Varsity Boys baketball:)

Varsity boys basketball started on November sixteen. There is eleven players on the team and they are looking good. The players are Dantley Walker, Eric Rippetoe, Jason Wheatley, Connor Robinson, Tyler Wadsworth, Chandler Katschke, Gabe Bernal, Aaron Sampson, Bruce Condie, Ryan Lloyd, and Jermey Avery. The coaches are Greg Walker and Mike Wood. They are playing in a tournament this weekend Thrusday thru Saturday. If you can come support them!

Well, NaNoWriMo officially ends today. The contest allowed students to write and compete for prizes. Students will be submitting their stories and Ms. Osborn

Every week some girls of 7th and 8th graders have been going to girls circle. Girls circle is a program to express your feeling and to meet new friends. It is alot of fun! MVMS first quarter pride trip !!! By : Sydney T

The 1st quarter pride trip was to Laser Mania !!! We had it rented out for 2 hours of everlasting fun ! We played Golf, lazer tag, and bumper cars there was also arcade games. Everyone seemed to be having the best time ! Mr. Zeirow and Mr. Sidford were really getting into laser tag and were scoring the highest on which ever game they were in ! Many of the students tried to win big on Deal or No Deal , but only two students won big on it . The two students were Preston R who won 800 tickets on double deal or no deal and Sydney T who won 400 tickets !

After 2 hours of unlimited fun , 8 games of laser tag , unlimited bumpercars , and mini golf , MVMS loaded the buses for a quick bite to eat and was headed home !
